The natural color of the veins, grooves and textures come to life after being hidden deep in the earth over the centuries. Each of the imported Italian marble tiles is carefully cut, honed and tumbled by expert craftsmen in Italy to reveal its timeless hidden beauty. The tumbled marble reflects natural grooves and veins which make these murals look very weathered and old. They are absolutely eye catching and will be the center of attention in any room. Classic Tile Murals are not decals, dye-sublimation, transfers, decoupage or hand painted. Classic Tile Murals are created using authentic pigments not dyes. The process used to create these murals is direct pigment impregnation. The UV stable pigments are sprayed directly onto the tile. We are the only company using this proprietary process. We can provide murals on Italian marble.. both tumbled and non-tumbled, travertine and limestone. Custom sizes are also available. The tiles are protected with a high UV coating. They are resistant to water, heat, humidity, salt, soap and even pasta sauce for those messy chefs out there!
Fade Resistance: Classic Tile Murals are made using authentic UV stable pigments, not dyes. This is an important feature to look for when purchasing tile murals. The molecules in dyes or dye-based inks (used by our competitors) are spread out. You might think of dye based inks as being a beach covered with sand. Because of this, dye based inks tend to fade more quickly since all of the molecules are exposed to the chemicals and sunlight induced reactions which fade the dye ink or dye sublimated materials. You may notice fading of dye based or dye sublimated murals in as little as 6 to 12 months. Pigmented Murals: Classic Tile Murals are made using pigments. Pigmented particles are similar to large pebbles on a beach. It is much more difficult for sunlight and chemicals to react with all of the pigment molecules since most of them are hidden inside the 'pebbles'. Pigments will last many many years or generations before any fading becomes noticeable.
